I met Mayor Tiu back in 2006. It was my first visit to Tanauan, Leyte, Philippines. I was there as a sponsor for Tanauan's 2nd National Skim Comp. I met up with Mayor on the first day. He was a humble, down to earth and polite man. He showed me the best of Philippine's hospitality. I can never forget that trip.
A year later we met up again in Singapore and in Penang during Penang's 1st International Skimboarding Competition 2007. He was one of the first few person who actually understood what I was doing, understood about the sport, pushed me and gave me all the support he could give. My only regret was not spending more time with him to talk and to share ideas when he was around.
Here's to a great man!
He will always be in my heart and I will truly miss him.
My deepest condolences goes out to Mayor's family.
God bless.
My first government support letter given to me by Mayor Tiu back in 2006. A great man who understands and supports the sport regardless.
